有人说，读书没有什么好处。读书是一种负担，读书时犹如把自己关在一个密不通风的笼子里，读书仿佛在接受魔鬼训练一般，使你生不如死，读书是多么痛苦，它是致人于死命的毒药。这只是那些文盲的看法，我却觉得读书的好处多多。我认为书是人类进步的阶梯，书是人类无声的老师，书是我们的知心好友，书是营养的药丸，书是精神食粮，书让我们走进了一个极乐世界，那里简直是天堂。读书是一种美的享受。读书，让你像走进了仙境一样，读书让你的童年生活更加富有色彩，读书陶冶了你的情操，减轻了你的疲劳，忘掉了你的烦恼，读书是五彩的调味料。与其叫我在玩中消耗时间，不如叫我到书的海洋中遨游。
在我不懂事之时，我见书如见鬼，可随着时间的流逝，我长大了，我知道什么是真正的享受，我学会了享受读书的乐趣。
读书破万卷，下笔如有神。读书不仅可以享受乐趣，而且对你有很大的帮助。书读多了，写起文章来，也会如行云流水一般，说起话来也文彬彬的，不是很好吗?
读书让我增添了许多乐趣，我也学会了享受读书的乐趣。在我童年的金色屋中，永远都存在着两个字“读书”。只有先学会读书，才懂得享受读书的乐趣。只有读书，你的生活才有意义，你的人生才会绽放出光芒，你也才不会虚度此生!

一、活动背景
随着时代的发展,民族逐渐融合,“地球村”也越来越小.如何使中国与国际社会进行更好的交流,促进彼此的发展,是当代中国大学生不可推卸的责任。而英语作为世界上使用最广泛的语言，在国际的交流中自然起着至关重要的作用。所以，英语水平已成为衡量当代大学生素质的基本标准之一。因此，本着“全院参与，办出特色，发现人才，培养学习兴趣”的宗旨，英语读书社举办一次面向全校各级的英语演讲比赛，以提高同学们的英语口语水平，提供一个可以展现自我，激励他人的舞台，并且加强在校大学生的竞争意识。
二、活动主题
“读书改变人生，学习成就未来”（Readingchangeslife,learningshapesfuture）
三、活动目的
为了给每位喜爱英语的同学提供一个展现自我的平台，丰富大家的第二课堂生活并配合学院关于第三届读书节活动的实施，同时充分挖掘个人的潜能，增强同学们的竞争意识，提高综合能力，英语读书社及外语系团总支特此举行以“读书改变人生，学习成就未来"（Readingchangeslife,learningshapesfuture）为主题的演讲比赛，相信本次活动能给大家带来意外的收获并能够终生受用。
